At 10:00 a.m. on September 26 Nigerian time, the generator stator of 2# unit of Zungeru Hydropower Station - the largest hydropower station in Nigeria, jointly constructed by CNEEC and SINOHYDRO, was successfully hoisted into the pit, completing another important milestone of the project. After the lifting of 1# stator on April 18, the successful lifting of 2# stator marks the smooth progress in the overall installation work of 2# unit, and a steady step towards the realization of connecting 4 units to the grid next year.

Located in the upper and middle course of Nigeria's Kaduna River, Zungeru Hydropower Station is the largest hydropower station constructed in Nigeria. After the project is completed and launched for power generation, it can satisfy the electricity utilization for two cities of a similar size to the capital of Abuja, and will play a significant role in relieving the electricity shortage of Nigeria, enhancing the stability and continuous supply capability of the power grid, meeting the demand of electricity from the national economic development and improving the people's living standard.
