This year 2023 marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative and the 60th anniversary of the China-Kenya diplomatic relations. On October 17, Zhao Hui, Chairman of CNNEC, met with H.E. William Samoei Ruto, President of Kenya, who came to attend the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, in Beijing with the company of Li Zhigang, Deputy General Manager of CNEEC.
At first, Zhao Hui thanked H.E. William Samoei Ruto for his time and attention to meet with him. And then, he introduced the main business of CNEEC and reported the implementation of relevant projects. He said that CNEEC has gained rich achievements in power and water fields, especially in Africa, and hoped that CNEEC could engage in the construction of energy projects in Kenya with the strong support of H.E. William Samoei Ruto and relevant government departments. This will play an important role in promoting socio-economic development and improving the living environment in Kenya.
After listening to the CNEEC’s introduction in detail, H.E. William Samoei Ruto spoke highly of its performance. He hoped that CNEEC would give full play to its professional superiority to support the environment improvement and resource utilization in Nairobi, the Capital of Kenya, as well as surrounding areas and conduct specific project cooperation in relevant fields with the local governments to help realize their commitment to their people. In addition, H.E. William Samoei Ruto also expressed that he would give his full support to the advancement of projects.
Relevant personnel from the Environment and Climate Change Office of State House Kenya, the Third Regional Department and the Solid Waste Utilization Technology Center of CNEEC also attended this meeting.
