On October 19, Wu Guisheng, General Manager of CNEEC met with H.E. Kashim Shettima, Vice President of Nigeria, who came to attend the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, in the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and had a friendly talk.
Wu Guisheng introduced the business of CNEEC and reported the situation of the Zungeru Hydroelectric Power Station Project in implementation. It is the largest hydroelectric power station in Nigeria financed by the Chinese Government Concessional Loan and Preferential Export Buyer’s Credit implemented by the Export-Import Bank of China. On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative, the Zungeru Hydroelectric Power Station lasting 10 years of construction with ingenuity was handed over successfully. Meanwhile, CNEEC is actively developing new projects in many fields in Nigeria, such as waste power generation, power transmission and transformation, urban network renovation, agriculture, etc. It also hopes that both sides will work together to deepen the cooperation and achieve more results for the Belt and Road Initiative with the strong support of the Nigerian government.
H.E. Kashim Shettima spoke highly of the achievements of CNEEC and the Zungeru Hydroelectric Power Station Project in implementation and said that he would continue to promote pragmatic cooperation between both sides. He also hoped that CNEEC upheld the fine style of work in the Zungeru Hydroelectric Power Station Project to engage in the project construction, help improve the local people’s livelihood and promote the development of China-Nigeria cooperation.
Yusuf Tuggar, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria, Adebayo Adelabu, Minister of Electricity, BABA AHMAD JIDDA, Nigeria’s Ambassador to China, Jin Hui, Deputy General Manager of CNEEC, Zhao Yao, General Manager of the Fifth Business Department, and Lv Bo, Deputy General Manager of the Fifth Business Department, all accompanied this meeting.
