On March 25, China National Electric Engineering Co., Ltd. (CNEEC) signed the contract for a 60MW dual-fuel power plant project in Nouakchott, the capital of Mauritania. This is a tribute to the 60^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Mauritania. This project marks the company’s first breakthrough in Mauritania’s electricity sector. It also represents an important achievement made by the two countries in deepening energy cooperation.

On the day of the signing, the CNEEC delegation visited Tang Zhongdong, the Chinese Ambassador to Mauritania. Tang hoped that CNEEC will fully leverage its technological strengths to ensure a high-quality project and thereby establish a benchmark for Chinese enterprises in the African market. He also proposed that through this project, CNEEC should capitalize on Mauritania's regional advantages, reach out to surrounding markets, expand its business in relevant fields, and create a demonstration project that exemplifies China-Africa energy cooperation.
