The TPIPP 150MW RDF-based waste-to-energy project in Thailand, with China National Electric Engineering Co., Ltd. (CNEEC) as the EPC contractor, made significant progress: the circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler completed a 72-hour full-load trial operation on May 26. This is the world’s first CFB boiler with parameters of 540℃ and 15.4MPa, integrating the external bed heat exchange system and single reheating technology. During the trial operation, the boiler output was stable, with all performance indicators meeting the contract requirements. The emission indicators were better than Thai standards and the requirements of the EU 2010/75/EU directive. This marks a milestone breakthrough in the “high parameters and low emissions” technology for waste incineration power generation.
This project adopts three high-temperature and ultra-high-pressure CFB boilers, with single reheat steam parameters and an innovative configuration of external heat exchange beds. Each boiler can handle 2,000 tons of waste a day, making it the world’s largest waste incineration boiler in terms of daily processing capacity. It is also the world’s first high-parameter waste incineration boiler. Using advanced technology, the project breaks through the bottlenecks of 400℃ and 4MPa for traditional waste incineration power plants. The waste-to-energy efficiency is 50% higher than that of conventional waste incineration power plants, reaching the industry-leading level. The first boiler successful completed a 72-hour trial operation, verifying its excellent fuel adaptability, low emissions, and load regulation capability in incinerating waste for RDF, providing innovative solutions for global waste reclamation and clean energy development.
Upon completion, the project will help the owner eliminate existing coal-fired boilers and reduce fuel costs. The project is expected to handle more than 1.8 million tons of waste, replace 360,000 tons of standard coal, and generate 1 billion kilowatt hours of green electricity annually. This will meet the needs of 300,000 households and reduce carbon emissions by 860,000 tons, making outstanding contributions to protecting the ecological environment and improving corporate economic benefits.
