Recently, Kong Xianhua, Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives, and Zhang Xu, Commercial Counselor of the Embassy, conducted an inspection and research visit to the Hocadu Tourism Complex Project undertaken by our company. Relevant personnel from the Fifth Business Division and the First Regional Division accompanied the delegation.

After gaining a detailed understanding of the project’s basic information and latest progress, Ambassador Kong and his team visited the construction site to conduct in-depth research on various aspects, including the distribution of tourism resources in Addu City, municipal infrastructure conditions, flight connectivity, the project’s economic feasibility, and practical challenges. Regarding the financing efforts for the project, Ambassador Kong encouraged our company to explore multiple approaches and comprehensively advance the financing process to achieve closure. He emphasized the importance of strengthening risk management mechanisms during financing and execution, proactively identifying potential risks, and ensuring the steady progress of the project.

Ambassador Kong spoke highly of the ongoing work on the project, noting that it holds positive significance for China-Maldives economic and trade cooperation while also enhancing Addu City’s overall tourism reception capacity. He expressed hope that our company would continue to uphold a professional and prudent approach, advancing the project in a scientific and rational manner.
