In November 2025, Yan Weihua, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of China National Electric Engineering Co., Ltd. (CNEEC), led a delegation to Johannesburg, South Africa, to attend the B20 Summit. During the visit, the team conducted market research and held partnership discussions to accelerate local waste-to-energy and aftermarket services projects. These efforts deepened strategic mutual trust with the South African government, financial institutions, and business partners, laying a solid foundation for the company's sustained engagement in the African market.

Under the theme of “Solidarity, Equality and Sustainability”, the B20 Summit brought together business leaders from around the world. Yan Weihua attended the conference as a representative of industry and commerce, exchanging ideas with international peers on issues such as global economic recovery and sustainable energy development, while sharing the practical experience of Chinese central state-owned enterprises in the energy sector.

Following the summit, Yan Weihua was invited by the Chinese Embassy in South Africa to attend a special dinner for Chinese-funded enterprises and South Africa’s Minister of Electricity and Energy, where he delivered a keynote speech. He outlined the company’s core businesses and industry advantages, reviewed the achievements in cooperation with the Ministry of Electricity and Energy in the past two years, and proposed ideas to jointly advance the high-quality development of the local electricity and energy sector.Regarding the company’s waste-to-energy project, Yan Weihua had a discussion with the mayor of Johannesburg and the head of the Environment and Infrastructure Management Bureau to summarize project achievements and clarify the strategic direction and roadmap for the next step. Accompanied by the project owner, he led a delegation to visit two landfill sites, guiding the project team on strategy optimization and risk mitigation to secure the project’s successful implementation.

To strengthen financial support for overseas operations, Yan Weihua led a delegation to visit the South African representative office of the China-Africa Development Fund, discussing topics such as opportunities for market cooperation, utilization of policy funds, and innovation in financial instruments in South Africa.

During his stay in South Africa, Yan Weihua held talks with several key local partners to explore the feasibility of cooperation and reached preliminary agreements in areas such as aftermarket services for power engineering, quality and efficiency enhancement of power plants, construction of gas-fired power plants, and development of new energy, further expanding the company’s business footprint in the South African market.

This trip to South Africa has facilitated the company’s greater integration into the global business cooperation network, deepened strategic trust with South African government departments, financial institutions, and partners, and laid a solid foundation for expanding the overseas market and implementing the internationalization strategy. Going forward, the company will continue to focus on the overall cooperation between China and South Africa, concentrate on the core needs of the energy sector, empower local development with high-quality products and services, and achieve mutual benefit.
