Distributed PV Project on OBI Island, Indonesia Connected to Grid for Power Generation, Adding New Green Energy to BRI

Release time:2025-12-15 Article source: Reading times: A+ A A-

The distributed photovoltaic project (phase I) on OBI Island in Indonesia with Scientech International, a subsidiary of China National Electric Engineering Co., Ltd. (CNEEC), as the supervisor, reached an important milestone: over 22 MW of distributed photovoltaic systems across three major areas (wet process phase I, smelting phase I and wet process phase III) achieved synchronized grid connection and commenced power generation.

Upon achieving full-capacity grid connection, the green electricity generated will power industrial production and operation on OBI Island. The project is expected to save 13,000 tons of standard coal equivalent and reduce 41,700 tons of carbon dioxide emissions (equivalent to planting 38,000 mu of trees) annually. This will reduce regional electricity costs, while enhancing stable and clean energy supply, supporting the region’s industrial green transition and environmental protection.
