The China National Electric Equipment Corporation (CNEEC) will rebuild the Mingyachevirskaya and Varvarinskaya hydroelectric stations in Azerbaijan, Azerenerggy has reported.

CNEEC engineers are already working to replace two units at the Mingyachevirskaya station and one at the Varvarinskaya station.

"This project is the first case of a Chinese company taking part in reconstructing a hydroelectric station in the former Soviet Union", Azerbaijan Energy Development Fund Director Sergey Pikin told RIA-Novosti.
